According to the beginner aquarist and even few experts, fish death is one of the main problems. It is too difficult to preserve the life of fishes in the aquarium which is so frustrating. Most fish deaths are caused as a result of parasites both internally and externally with competing with you fish in tank. You should be able to discover when your fishes have been infected by this parasite if you watch your aquarium fish keenly. So that often you should to treat them to avoid fish death.
Look out for the following behavioral symptoms in your fish:
White Spot - The parasite like Ichthyophthirius Multifillis is the main cause of the ailment of fishes which is referred to white Spot on fishes. This type of ailment is mostly common found in fishes. The initial spot signs are visible like pin head-size and then developed through out the body or fins of the fishes. In the free swimming stage this parasite has attached itself to the fish. Methylene Blue is the most common chemical used in treating infected fishes. Make sure that you have to use this chemical at a good ratio like you have to apply at 0.8 to 1.0ml per gallon of water and do it repeatedly in two days. You get this chemical one per cent stock solution from a reputable chemist or aquarium shop. You should continue with this chemical solution with the aquarium water until every spot has disappeared from your fishes. Then go for changing water the treatment which is necessary. Aquariust using side filter with activated charcoal should remove this gadget to prevent the coal from absorbing the blue dye. You should use artificial ventilation with coarse bubbles near the surface during the treatment, since a dirty bottom would inactivate the medicament by absorption. It is necessary remove all dirt from the bottom before treatment. You can also apply Methylene Blue to young fishes which are also harmless. If you used this chemical in weaker concentration it will not affect to the plants inside the aquarium. |
